What happens
Riley, a war worker, spends his Sunday day off at home, bored and restless, while his wife Peg takes a phone call from Sidney 'Butch' Monahan, an old flame from Brooklyn. Then his lodge friends lure him toward a party. The Life of Riley is a comedy series starring William Bendix, and this episode aired on September 24, 1944, on the Blue Network and NBC.
A bungalow in California on a Sunday, then a lodge meeting, a party, and the Monahan home.
Characters: Riley, Peg, Sidney 'Butch' Monahan, Waldo, Lorraine
Listen for: Riley's jealousy over Peg's phone call and his sudden change of attitude toward her.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
