What happens
Riley, a factory worker, learns that his best friend Mule Durkin has thrown a party and that he was left off the guest list. Riley's pal Jim Gillis is also embarrassed to be in the dark, and Riley suspects a mail mix-up and tries to find out why he was not invited. Riley's pride is wounded as the other guests drop their excuses, and he resolves to win back his friends. This is an episode of The Life of Riley, first broadcast on October 8, 1944, starring William Bendix, Paula Winslowe, Hans Conried and Alan Reed.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
