What happens

Chester A. Riley, played by William Bendix, is a loud, well-meaning family man whose son Junior lives in his shadow. When Junior sells a baseball for a uniform, a forged signature and a second-hand uniform lead to trouble. Riley claims the uniform is his from boyhood, and Junior wears it to a neighborhood game. Riley, Peg, Junior and their friends argue about honesty and loyalty as the day goes on. The Life of Riley aired on the Blue Network/ABC and NBC in 1948, with William Bendix, Paula Winslowe, Hans Conried and Alan Reed in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
