What happens
Chester A. Riley and his co-worker Jim Gillis trade barbs about their sons, and Gillis's son is already working part time. Riley's son Junior is pressed by his father to join an industrial training course at school. Junior is then assigned to the same plant where Riley works, timing the work of the men in Section D. The Life of Riley aired on January 11, 1947, with William Bendix in the lead role of Riley and Paula Winslowe as his wife Peg.
A factory plant, and the Riley family home.
Characters: Chester A. Riley, Junior Riley, Jim Gillis, Peg Riley, Mr. Stevenson, Gleason
Listen for: Junior's first day at the plant, when he is assigned to time his father's work, and Riley's reaction to the news.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
