What happens
Chester A. Riley, a war worker in California, faces a dilemma when his daughter Babs wants to travel to San Francisco to be a bridesmaid at her best friend's military wedding. Riley's wife Peg is reluctant to leave him alone, and the household argues back and forth over who should go. Meanwhile, the neighborhood gossip Sandra Lena Furbish spreads a rumor that the Rileys are separating, and Riley's neighbor Waldo Penny offers his own opinions on handling wives. The story is told in the Life of Riley series, which was broadcast on the Blue Network and NBC in 1944 and starred William Bendix as Riley.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
