What happens

George Valentine is hired to retrieve a briefcase containing priceless paintings by Sebastian Zundud that were lost during the Nazi occupation. The plan involves a woman swapping the briefcase in a powder room while George waits in the lobby, but multiple dangerous parties—including the mysterious Jim Fowler and other interested collectors—are also after the paintings.

A hotel lobby and powder room in what appears to be a contemporary American city.

Characters: George Valentine, Mrs. Burnett, Mick, Jim Fowler, Van Brokeland

Listen for: The tense negotiations over the valuable paintings, George's confrontations with multiple rivals seeking the briefcase, and the escalating danger as various parties close in on the exchange.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
