What happens
George Valentine receives a letter from Winslow Bark, who claims to have committed the perfect murder of a man named Donald Anderson and wants George to prove it to the authorities. However, Anderson's wife Teresa has been arrested for the crime instead, and Winslow insists he actually committed the murder and wants to confess. George must investigate whether Winslow is truly guilty or whether the police have the right suspect in Teresa.
The Anderson house and police station in an unspecified city.
Characters: George Valentine, Booksy Brooks, Winslow Bark, Lieutenant Riley, Mrs. Teresa Anderson, Jonathan Gaines, Farnsworth, Jesse
Listen for: The poisoned drink test that Winslow uses to evaluate George's caution, and Farnsworth's overly formal testimony about what he supposedly overheard Mrs. Anderson say to Jonathan Gaines.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
