What happens
George Valentine receives a letter from Edna Pallas, a woman concerned about her millionaire husband Walter's bizarre behavior. Once retired and respectable, Walter has begun stealing from stores, mocking religion, ruining his business partner, and generally acting cruel and obnoxious. Edna asks George to investigate what has caused this dramatic change in her husband's character. George agrees to take the case and travels to the Pallas estate to meet Walter in person.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
