What happens
George Valentine is hired by Miss Dowdy, companion of the late Ireland Betty, to investigate Professor E.L. Gifford, who plans to purchase an old Italian villa-style house. Miss Dowdy is concerned about the sale because the house holds special significance, though she hesitates to explain why. When Valentine meets both Christine O'Casey, the young heir who wants to sell, and Professor Gifford, a psychic researcher, tensions arise over the house's future.
An enormous, rambling Italian villa-style house where Ireland Betty once lived, with Miss Dowdy still residing there.
Characters: George Valentine, Miss Dowdy, Christine O'Casey, Professor E.L. Gifford, Mr. Eustace
Listen for: Hints about why Miss Dowdy and Ireland Betty regarded the house as special, and what supernatural elements may be connected to it.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
