What happens
George Valentine is hired by Owen Marby, a Canadian novelist, to investigate whether his old friend Dr. Kenneth Sterritt's death was truly an accident or murder. Marby suspects Sterritt's beautiful wife Julia and a man named Charles Dallason of foul play, noting that Sterritt had expressed marital unhappiness before his fatal car crash on foggy Eagle Canyon Drive. George's assistant Claire infiltrates Julia and Charles's car to eavesdrop on their conversation, and their nervous behavior about Marby's arrival suggests guilt.
A city with mountain roads; Eagle Canyon Drive where Dr. Sterritt died in a car accident; Julia and Charles's haunts including restaurants and mountains.
Characters: George Valentine, Owen Marby, Julia Sterritt, Charles Dallason, Claire Brooks, Eddie
Listen for: The tense dinner party at Julia's mountain home; whether Marby will expose Julia and Charles's relationship; clues about the true nature of Dr. Sterritt's death.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
