What happens

George Valentine is hired by the elegant Donna Lawson Nichols to deliver four priceless Rubens miniatures worth $50,000 to a gallery in Wainsville. On his way to make the delivery, George is forced off the road by a truck and knocked unconscious. When he comes to, the miniatures have vanished, but he finds a $20,000 check signed by Jason Renschler of the Renschler Galleries instead.

A small town with roads leading to Wainsville; George's office; the road where the accident occurs; a police station.

Characters: George Valentine, Donna Lawson Nichols, Brooks, Mr. Renschler, Sergeant, Charles Nichols

Listen for: George's past connection to Donna from their college days; the mysterious truck that forces him off the road; the appearance of the check from Renschler instead of the miniatures; the police investigation into the missing paintings.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
