What happens

George Valentine arrives at Western State University to investigate murder threats against Professor Cobaur, a brilliant botanist who is developing a new orchid variety. The professor is surrounded by suspicious relationships: his student Louise D'Raine and her husband Michael (both ex-GIs), the professor's wife, and his department head, all with potential motives connected to his groundbreaking botanical experiments and the flower's intended name.
