What happens
George Valentine receives a letter from Dave Herron, a young forest owner in the logging town of High Timber, asking for help investigating a series of deliberately set forest fires that have been destroying property. Four fires have been set in recent weeks, each carefully placed at natural fire lines, and they're threatening to ruin Herron and others in the community. Valentine arrives in town to investigate who is behind the mysterious arson.
High Timber, a small logging town surrounded by pine forests
Characters: George Valentine, Dave Herron, Artie (diner worker), Miss Brooks, C.J. Murdoch (lumber owner), Stan Kubrick (former logger), Frank Redland (sheriff)
Listen for: Valentine's investigation into who is setting the forest fires and his encounters with the townspeople who all seem to have motives and fears about the blazes destroying their timber holdings.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
