What happens

Private detective George Valentine is called to the home of painter Wentworth Jonas to investigate what Gloria Bishop claims is a murder. When Valentine arrives, he discovers the "victim" is actually Jonas's cat, Harold, who appears to have died from eating poisoned chocolate creams. The candy was sent to Jonas in a mysterious package with no return address, suggesting someone may have been trying to poison the artist himself.

Characters: George Valentine, Gloria Bishop, Wentworth Jonas, Melville Barn, Miss Brooks

Listen for: The mystery of who sent the poisoned chocolates to Jonas and why they wanted him dead; the revelation of what happens to Melville Barn, who received the candy box from Jonas around noon

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
