What happens
George Valentine is called to the small town of Broomeville to investigate the murder of Mervin Brewster, a beloved broom factory owner who was shot through his front door window by a stranger in a big black sedan from the city. The mystery deepens when George discovers that despite the sedan's visit, there are no footprints at the murder scene—only trampled rubber boot prints—and clues suggest the killer may be someone local rather than the mysterious visitor from out of town.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
