What happens

Nard Evans returns home from prison to find his wife Verner dead, hit by an automobile driven by wealthy businessman Farrell Paulson a week earlier. Believing the accident was no accident and that Paulson's money bought him a quick exoneration, Nard hires detective George Valentine to investigate the case that police have already closed.

A town in the American West, present day (1949), including George Valentine's office, Paulson's home, and police headquarters.

Characters: George Valentine, Nard Evans, Farrell Paulson, Lieutenant Riley

Listen for: The revelation of what really happened to Verner Evans on that Saturday night, and whether Paulson bears any responsibility for her death.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
