What happens

George Valentine, a private investigator, receives a letter from Mrs. Ames asking for help with her troubled husband, Victor. Victor, a lawyer, has become increasingly erratic and despondent, haunted by suspicions from his town that he murdered a woman named Dorsey-Folman a year ago, despite never being formally tried. George must discover what Victor is really doing and why he seems bent on self-destruction.

A small town, primarily at the Father's Club and the Ames household

Characters: George Valentine, Victor Ames, Mrs. Ames, Chester, Norton, Lord

Listen for: A murder mystery from a year past that still haunts the community; a card game with mysterious stakes; a man on the edge of desperation

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
