What happens
Detective George Valentine is hired by cowboy actor Rafe Dizzaro to investigate a mysterious situation involving Daphne Crockett, a schoolteacher Rafe recently met who is being watched and shot at from a nearby apartment building. When a blackmailer named Curly Black is found dead in the apartment of a blind piano player named Dick Siva, Valentine must unravel a tangled web of murder, blackmail, and hidden motives to find the true killer.
A modern apartment building in the city, with rooftop gardens where Daphne practices her shooting.
Characters: George Valentine, Rafe Dizzaro, Daphne Crockett, Dick Siva, Curly Black, Michael J. Martin, Lieutenant Riley
Listen for: The clever twist that reveals how a blind man could commit two seemingly professional murders by using a hidden gun rig beneath his nailed-down chair; Valentine's deduction of the killer's method through process of elimination.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
