What happens

George Valentine receives an anonymous letter offering $300 to investigate a series of violent deaths in the Warrington Square area, including mentions of a victim named Nancy Cabot. A newspaper reporter named Pringle has been linking the murders to a suspect wearing a distinctive plaid sports jacket, but Lieutenant Riley remains skeptical about whether the cases are actually connected. George begins investigating the various witnesses and suspects to determine if Pringle's theory holds any truth.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
