What happens
Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar is hired by bail bondsman Max Krause to find two missing prosecution witnesses in a case against Leo Porcina before trial begins in a week. Dollar's search for one witness, Nippy Cochran, leads him to Nippy's sister Mona Doyle, a Broadway performer who introduces him to the dangerous criminal Porcina himself.
New York City, including Dollar's Hartford apartment and an 81st Street brownstone apartment where Mona Doyle lives
Characters: Johnny Dollar, Max Krause, Nippy Cochran, Mona Doyle, Leo Porcina, Dan Patterson
Listen for: The clever banter between Dollar and Mona as their initial confrontation turns flirtatious, and the tense confrontation when Leo Porcina arrives at the apartment.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
