What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar is sent to Los Angeles to investigate Dr. Otto Schmedlich, a physician with a malpractice insurance policy. The insurance company suspects criminal malpractice rather than accidental, which would allow them to cancel his coverage. Dollar befriends the doctor's nurse Doreen to gather information about Schmedlich's patients and practices.
