What happens
Johnny Dollar, a freelance insurance investigator, is called to Los Angeles by Ted Orloff of Western Indemnity after a delivery truck carrying about $9,500 worth of copper tubing vanishes. The load belonged to the Marlow Copper Products warehouse in East Los Angeles, and the driver, Jackie McCallen, has not been seen since the truck left the yard just after midnight. Dollar questions the warehouse owner, Mr. Marlow, and the night watchman, Willie, about how the truck was released and who knew its schedule. Jackie's rented room is searched by a stranger, and Dollar soon meets the real driver. The investigation turns toward the shipment's destination and the question of who had inside knowledge of its timing.
Los Angeles and East Los Angeles, with a trip out toward Victorville in the Mojave desert
Characters: Johnny Dollar, Ted Orloff, Jackie McCallen, Mr. Marlow, Willie, Red Kingsley
Listen for: The night watchman's time clock record and what it shows about where Willie was when the truck left.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
