What happens

Johnny Dollar, an insurance investigator for the Universal Adjustment Bureau, is called in by his boss Pat McCracken about a puzzling pattern of anonymous conscience payments sent to International Life and Casualty. Each month a payment of $833.34 arrives from New York City, and the sums appear to add up to a $50,000 policy. Dollar traces the payments to a life insurance policy tied to a sculptor, Henry Davidson Pollock, who was reported dead in a plane crash. The series is Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar, first broadcast on CBS Radio on June 14, 1959, with Bob Bailey in the lead role. This opening portion of the episode sets up the mystery of who is paying the money back and why.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
