What happens

Johnny Dollar, an insurance investigator, is sent to protect John Walton, a witness who saw a killing in a New York alley and says he can identify the gunman. Lieutenant Randy Singer of the police is working the case with few leads, so Johnny joins the search and follows the trail through the city. Walton's apartment becomes the scene of an attack, and Johnny begins to question what the witness has told the police. The episode is part of the Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar radio series, broadcast in 1958 on CBS Radio, with Bob Bailey in the title role. Edmond O'Brien, John Lund and Charles Russell are also among the lead actors.

New York City, including an alley off First Avenue, Walton's apartment on East 53rd Street, and a hotel lobby; also Hartford, Connecticut, where Johnny's company is based

Characters: Johnny Dollar, Randy Singer, John Walton, Tim Conroy, Smokey Joe Sullivan, John Roy, Paul Hemple

Listen for: Pay attention to the witness's account of the night of the killing and the details he gives about the alley and the streetlight.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
