What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar is called to Lake Harvey Resort to investigate the death of Elmer Hobbs, a businessman whose boat sank during a storm. While local authorities rule it an accident, Johnny discovers evidence suggesting murder: the boat's flotation tanks were deliberately cut open and an anchor line was wrapped around the body. Now Johnny must determine who among those with motive and opportunity killed Hobbs.
