What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar is sent to collect a $125,000 claim on an uncut diamond called the Canary, stolen from jewelry shop owner Madam Johannes in Beverly Hills. When a mysterious caller offers to return the stone, Dollar and police Lieutenant Hankins rush to retrieve it, but complications arise regarding the diamond's actual value and condition.
