What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar is called to look into a $400,000 claim filed by Mrs. Connie Lanfaire after her husband Doug's yacht, the Sea Legs, sank near the Bouldera Islands off Nicaragua. The boat went down while Doug was testing newly repaired radio equipment, and both he and the skipper were lost. However, Dollar notes that Doug had filed a similar claim two and a half years earlier when another vessel, the Kaneo, sank in the same treacherous waters.

Long Island, New York and the Caribbean coast of Central America, particularly Nicaragua and the Bouldera Islands

Characters: Johnny Dollar, Pat McCrack, Mrs. Connie Lanfaire, Doug Lanfaire, The taxi driver

Listen for: Mrs. Lanfaire's explanation of why her husband deliberately returned to the dangerous Bouldera Islands to prove he could navigate them safely, and Johnny Dollar's growing suspicions about the circumstances of the wreck and the second insurance claim.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
