What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar arrives in Port Morris, New Jersey to investigate the death of Ricardo Amarego, a musician whose car plunged off a bridge into a tidal creek. Sergeant Barney Peters suspects booking agent Pete Corbin, who stands to benefit from Amarego's insurance policy. While examining the bridge, Johnny discovers Amarego's valuable violin case wedged in the marsh reeds and retrieves it after a harrowing struggle through quicksand-like mud, only to find a piece of Amarego's shirt deliberately attached to it.

Listen for: Johnny's difficult retrieval of the violin case from the marsh, the discovery of Amarego's shirt on the case, and the debate over whether Pete Corbin deliberately planted it there

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
