What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar takes on a case for Harry McQueen of Mid-Eastern Indemnity after a $75,000 bank robbery in New York City. The thief is Danny Diamond, a known criminal who has been released for lack of evidence, and Johnny is assigned to recover the missing money. Lieutenant Randy Singer of the New York police is convinced Diamond committed the robbery but has no proof, so Johnny follows Diamond to Los Angeles. Traveling on the same flight, Johnny watches him closely, and on arrival in Long Beach he searches Diamond's home. The episode is part of the long-running CBS radio series Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar, first broadcast on February 14, 1960, with Bob Bailey in the title role.

New York City and Long Beach, California, 1960

Characters: Johnny Dollar, Harry McQueen, Danny Diamond, Randy Singer, Sergeant Raleigh Wyman

Listen for: Pay attention to the typographical error in Randy Singer's telegram and how Johnny uses it to reason about where the money might be.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
