What happens

Johnny Dollar convinces Kathy O'Dare, a woman in hiding in a small mountain town, to testify against gangster Nick Schern for the murder of Mel Pryker. Kathy has been protecting herself and her young daughter Jill by keeping silent about witnessing the killing at Schern's club, but Johnny appeals to her sense of duty and her responsibility to raise her daughter with courage rather than fear.

A remote house in Brambury during a blizzard, and flashbacks to Nick Schern's club in the city where a murder occurred.
