What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar searches for Cathy O'Dear and her daughter in a worsening blizzard after they flee their home. Cathy has taken a car and rifle, and Johnny discovers an abandoned vehicle on Pine Lake Road—along with evidence that killer Benny Stark is also in the area. Johnny sets out alone on foot into the storm to track them down.
