What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar has been tracking the truth behind the sinking of the Molly K. He discovers that Dean Sutton, engaged to Captain Brawley's daughter Ellen, orchestrated the ship's destruction to collect insurance on the cargo after the Tokyo grain market collapsed. But when Johnny confronts Ellen at the Brawley shipping office, she reveals herself as the real mastermind behind the scheme—and she's determined to silence him.
