What happens
Johnny Dollar, a freelance insurance investigator, is hired by George Gillis to find Ming-Toy, a talking dog that has disappeared from his New York apartment. Gillis's policy on the dog is small, but he wants it found to keep his other coverage. Dollar questions Gillis, his daughter Marion, and the building's super, learning that the dog was meant to appear on a television show offering a prize for a talking dog. Dollar tracks down Michael Murphy, the dog's former owner, whose dispute with Gillis turns into a fight. This is an episode of Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar, the CBS Radio series, first broadcast on April 14, 1957, starring Bob Bailey, Edmond O'Brien, John Lund and Charles Russell.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
