What happens
Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar looks into a policy change for Dr. Walter Merrell, a Nobel Prize-winning chemist who has named his colleague, Professor Theodore Nash, as beneficiary. Merrell's daughter objects to the change, so Dollar travels to the isolated New Jersey lakeside cottage where the two men work in a locked laboratory. There he finds the professor badly injured and Merrell dead of a gunshot. Dollar begins piecing together a link between the dead scientist and a relative. The episode is from Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar, first broadcast on CBS Radio on March 17, 1957, with Bob Bailey in the title role.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
