What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar looks into a body found on a Newport beach that two families claim as their missing daughter. Bert McGraw assigns him the case after Darla Mason's father, Mr. Mason, identifies the body as his daughter, only for Henry Dixon to come forward and make the same claim about his own daughter, Ruth. Johnny travels to Newport, Rhode Island, and speaks with both families, weighing their stories while the police work to establish the dead woman's identity. The episode is an installment of the radio series Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar, first broadcast on CBS Radio on June 9, 1957, with Bob Bailey in the title role.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
