What happens
Johnny Dollar, an insurance investigator for the Providential Assurance Company, is sent back to Newport to look into the death of Ruth Dixon, whose body washed ashore on Newport Beach. Captain Lewis of the Newport police wants Johnny to share everything he learns, and Johnny begins to suspect a link between Ruth Dixon and Darla Mason. The case takes him to the Dixon home, where Ruth's mother has turned to a spiritualist, and then to Viking Beach, where Sam Hood runs a boat repair shop. Johnny's inquiries draw him into a shooting and a sequence of questions about who knew whom and who owned which boat. The episode is part of the long-running Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar series, originally broadcast on CBS Radio on June 16, 1957, with Bob Bailey in the title role.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
