What happens

Johnny Dollar is investigating the Laird Douglas Douglas of Heatherscote matter at the mansion of Mrs. Van Piteen when her nephew Warren Staley is found dead, poisoned with panoramic acid added to his Scotch whiskey. The poison was meant for someone else—possibly Johnny himself or the valuable dog Laird Douglas—and this is the third death connected to the case. Johnny must unravel which household member switched the poisoned bottle and why.

The sumptuous mansion of Mrs. Van Piteen, particularly Warren Staley's suite of rooms which was once a childhood playroom.

Characters: Johnny Dollar, Mrs. Peter Malcolm Kelly Van Piteen, Warren Staley, Lieutenant Howard, Ronald Kenworthy, Hastings the butler, Mademoiselle Plieraux, the doctor

Listen for: The clever bottle-switching mystery as Johnny pieces together how the poisoned Scotch was substituted, and the growing realization that Johnny himself may have been the intended victim.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
