What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar travels to Lake Mojave after Buster Faver, manager of the resort there, reports that Mike Kirby, a retired businessman, has died by what appears to be a rattlesnake bite. Buster suspects murder, and Johnny questions Kirby's three heirs, who have all gathered at the resort: nephew Chester, niece Martha Woodbury, and nephew Hank. Each has a reason to be interested in the old man's fortune. Johnny begins examining the lake and the boats involved, while a lawyer is expected to read the will. This is a radio drama of the series Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar, first broadcast in 1957 on CBS Radio, with Bob Bailey in the lead role.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
