What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar is in Southern California looking into a $460,000 fraud claim filed by international arms smuggler Paulus Zanegian for his yacht, the Jolly Roger, which exploded and sank during a test run. Two people have already been murdered by hit-and-run killings when they got in Zanegian's way: insurance company man Bert Parker and Coast Guard Lieutenant Smith. Dollar suspects Zanegian sank his own ship to raise money after his assets were frozen by foreign governments, and now the ruthless operator is using threats and violence to force the claim's settlement.
