What happens
Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar is pulled from his vacation by his boss, Pat McCracken, to find Ned Grant, a Broadway columnist whose life is threatened by Willie Beamus, a recently escaped convict. Grant has vanished, and Johnny follows a series of leads, including a singer named Doris Anthony, a travel agent, and a ski lodge in Vermont. The search brings Johnny face to face with Beamus in a dark, empty lodge. This 1957 episode of Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar, broadcast on CBS Radio, stars Bob Bailey.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
