What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar is hired by an old friend, Howard Arnold, to protect him from a dangerous criminal outfit led by Castro. Arnold gives Dollar an envelope containing evidence that could send Castro away for a hundred years, but when one of Castro's men attacks Dollar at his hotel and tears the place apart looking for it, Dollar must arrange a clandestine meeting to return the envelope to Arnold.

New York City, including the Ellsworth Hotel, Arnold's office, and a remote meeting spot reached by a 40-minute drive into the countryside.
