What happens
Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar is called to look into the death of banker Curtis Randall, who was shot at a hunting cabin in Kingman, New York, with a rifle. The hunting guide Curly Summers is blamed, and Randall's companion Byron Peters was wounded during the shooting. Because Peters is the beneficiary of a half-million dollar policy, Dollar begins to doubt the official account. He speaks with the wounded Peters at the hospital and then with Captain McManus of the local police, and he examines the cabin and the wounds. This is the story of Dollar's inquiry as the transcript presents it. The episode is part of the Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar radio series, originally broadcast on CBS Radio on December 8, 1957, starring Bob Bailey.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
