What happens
Johnny Dollar investigates whether William Marquis, who supposedly died when his cruiser sank off the Florida coast, is actually alive and attempting insurance fraud. A hearing is scheduled for the next morning to determine if Marquis should be declared legally dead, but evidence suggests he may have staged his own death and is hiding somewhere in the area.
Miami Beach, Florida; the Marquis home and surrounding area; Pompano Beach Hotel
Characters: Johnny Dollar, Barney Wilson, Mrs. Marquis (Edna), Denny Haynes, Judge Campbell, William Marquis
Listen for: Johnny's confrontation with Mrs. Marquis about her husband's swimming abilities and secret purchases; his late-night interview with Denny Haynes at the hotel, where Denny's emotional attachment to Mrs. Marquis becomes apparent.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
