What happens

Insurance adjuster Johnny Dollar arrives in San Pietro to investigate a $65,000 claim for Duke Red, a valuable racehorse owned by Ben Abbott that was reportedly destroyed after a serious accident. With the ranch manager who filed the claim now mysteriously gone and Abbott himself unavailable, Dollar begins questioning those involved, starting with the veterinarian who treated the horse.

Listen for: The mysterious disappearance of Monroe, the quick cremation of the horse's carcass with no photographs or X-rays taken, and questions about whether the injury was truly fatal

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
