What happens
Johnny Dollar, a freelance insurance investigator, is sent by his employer to look into the reported loss of a valuable emerald called the Cape Star, owned by wealthy socialite Hildegard Ransom. Rip Single, a colleague who has been courting Miss Ransom, arranges the assignment and speaks of her as a woman who seeks thrills. Johnny travels by air and then by sea, meeting Hildegard aboard her luxury yacht off the coast near Newport and Balboa. The story is part of the Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar series, a CBS Radio program first broadcast on June 15, 1958, with Bob Bailey among its lead actors.

Listen for: The reported loss of the emerald and the suspicious crew member seen on the yacht
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
