What happens

Johnny Dollar, a freelance insurance investigator, is hired by Bertram Haskell, a mine owner in Houghton, Michigan, after his partner Ben Oliver is shot dead in the darkness of the Haskell mine. Dollar travels north to the mining camp and learns that the fatal shot struck Oliver in the back, apparently fired from fifteen or twenty feet away in total blackness. Haskell insists the killer must be one of six miners who rode the ore car down with Oliver, and he has Dollar question the men. Dollar also speaks with Oliver's widow and studies his late partner's uranium detection equipment. Mining and the search for uranium ore are central to the case. The episode is an installment of the radio series Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar, first broadcast on CBS Radio on March 13, 1960, starring Bob Bailey.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
