What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar arrives in Los Angeles to look into the disappearance of David Parsons Jr., who has been missing for ten days. David's wife Dorothy approaches Dollar for help, but her seeming indifference to her husband's whereabouts and her reluctance to involve the police raise questions about her true intentions and knowledge of the case.
