What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar is called to investigate the theft of the Caligio Diamond, a valuable stone worth $200,000 that was kept in a wall safe in the home of George Benson. Benson is found shot dead in his study with the safe open and the diamond missing. Dollar begins interviewing those close to Benson, including his daughter and the family lawyer, to determine who had access to the safe's combination.

A town called Hoffman, primarily in Benson's home and Mr. Carrigan's law office on Main Street
