What happens
Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar arrives in Newport Beach to investigate a series of Arrowcraft pleasure boat sinkings that have claimed eleven lives. When a chartered search vessel discovers a sunken Arrowcraft in the fog, Dollar boards the derelict and finds the body of a young woman in the cabin, bearing a suspicious bruise behind her ear that suggests she may have been struck before the ship went down.
Newport Beach, California and offshore waters, 1950. The investigation centers on a series of sinking Arrowcraft boats in fog-shrouded waters thirty miles from the coast.
Characters: Johnny Dollar, Millard Snell, Robert, Fred Crocker, Myers, Dr. Sainte, Antonio Caruso, Chester McNeil
Listen for: Dollar's discovery of Antonio Caruso's body aboard the derelict vessel and his suspicion that the bruising behind her ear indicates foul play rather than accidental drowning. The mystery of why she was alone on the boat and whether her death is connected to the other sinkings.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
