What happens

Insurance investigator Johnny Dollar travels to New York to investigate the murder of Byron Hayes. A mysterious man named Roy Corona contacts him with information suggesting that Hayes was being blackmailed by a woman named Rita Cobb, offering an alternative to the police theory that Roy himself committed the crime out of jealousy over his ex-girlfriend.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
